Meetings on heaven and hell continue at Bready Church

“I’m not perfect, but I do my best. I hope that’s enough to get me into heaven. What more could God expect?”

That’s the attitude of many, says Blair McFarland, Pastor at Bready Reformed Presbyterian Church. But it begs the question: How good is good enough? A young man came to Jesus one day and asked, “What good deed must I do to have eternal life?” Jesus’ reply was to the effect, What do you mean by ‘good?’ Are you comparing yourself to other people or to God? “You know the commandments: do not murder, steal, commit adultery.” “All these I have kept,” he said. “What do I still lack?” Then Jesus said a rather strange thing. “Sell what you have and give to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”

Jesus was referring to the 1st commandment “You shall have no other gods before me.” Meetings take place in Bready Reformed Church each Sunday at 11.30 & 7pm.
