Members get a lesson in Irishbanking history

THE latest meeting of Abbey Historical Society took place on Wednesday, April 10.

Guest speaker was the extremely well-known Gwyn Hughes who gave a talk on the history of banking in Ireland.

The group, which is in its 20th anniversary year, has had a number of interesting talks, with Dr David Hume MBE recently giving a talk on the poets of south Antrim.

The society meets every month in the White House, Whitehouse Park and visitors are always made more than welcome.
