Memorial bench and tree scheme approved
The introduction of a Memorial Tree and Bench Commemorative Programme has been agreed by MEA council.
The programme allows members of the public and organisations to recognise and honour others through a lasting tribute. This is done by purchasing a bench or by sponsoring a tree dedicated to that person.
A formal scheme operated in the Carrickfergus legacy council since 2005 and a similar ad hoc policy has also operated in the Larne area.
