THE Foyle Civic Trust (FCT) will dedicate a plaque and tree in memory of the late Londonderry historian Annesley Malley at Prehen House next month.

The Dean of Derry, William Morton, will conduct the ceremony at 7.30pm at the historic building on October 18.

It is part of a series of events being held this autumn by the Trust.

Annesley was both a founder member and past chairman of the Trust, in addition to being a tireless champion for local history and the built environment.

The ceremony will be restricted to FCT members and members of the Malley family.

In November the Trust will be hosting a debate on the proliferation of wind turbines throughout the North West.

People are invited to attend ‘The Windmill Debate’ at a venue yet to be confirmed on November 8, at 7.30pm.

And on November 22 at 7.30pm, Town Clerk Sharon O’Connor, will address Trust members on various city initiatives including the Riverside Masterplan, the new Corporate Plan and ‘City of culture 2013.’ This event will take place in the conference room in the Council offices.

For both of these events admission is £3 for FCT members and £5 for non-members.
