Memorial Garden site finally secured

Coleraine Borough Council have granted a local charity a piece of land near its Portstewart Road Headquarters to build a memorial garden.

The memorial garden will be built on land just opposite University Gardens in Coleraine.

Plans have already been drawn up for the garden by Steven Todd, a Coleraien man, who now lives in Australia. It is now hoped that preparatory work can commence later this summer. Andrea McAleese, who is behind the project told The Times last week that she was ‘crying happy tears’ following the news about the land. Over 12,000 has been raised by Coleraine folk for the charity, the target is £20.000.
