'Memorial Night' for Seamus

FAMILY and friends are holding a special evening next monthy in honour of the late Seamus Loughrey - a wonderful man who touched so many people's lives through his friendship and his work.

Anyone who knew Seamus personally or met him even just once was touched by the warm personality of this great man who is very sadly missed.

The evening - at Lush! Kelly's, Portrush, on Friday, October 22 - has been arranged to celebrate Seamus' life, his work and to say thank you and raise funds for three charities - Macmillan Cancer Support, Northern Ireland Hospice and Marie Curie Cancer Care.

The organisers have lined up a great night's entertainment hosted by BBC duo Sarah Travers and Alan Simpson and will feature Plug & Dominic, The Band for U.N.C.L.E. (featuring The Groove Robbers and The Jungle VIPs horn section with keyboards) and special guest appearances from Henry McCullough, Bernard Loughrey and Anthony Toner.

Sarah and Alan will welcome guests from 8.30pm and an auction featuring some of Seamus' favourite, original, signed canvasses will be held from 9.30pm with auctioneer Dermot Gordon of Armstrong Gordon.

Bernard Loughrey will perform the beautiful ballad "A Single Yellow Rose", written and recorded in his brother's memory and he will be followed on stage by a wealth of talented local musicians.

The organisers are encouraging everyone who wants to attend to buy their tickets as soon as possible. They are certain to be in great demand as Seamus was so widely known, respected and loved.
