Men arrested after drugs worth £100,000 seized

Detectives from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch have arrested two men on suspicion of a number of drugs offences and seized suspected Class A, Class B and Class C controlled drugs, with an estimated street value of £100,000.

A quantity of cash and other drugs paraphernalia were also seized.

The arrests and seizures follow planned searches of a house in Coleraine and two houses in East Belfast yesterday, Wednesday 26 August. The men, aged 25 and 32 remain in police custody at this time.

Commenting on the operation, Detective Inspector Sean Taylor from Reactive and Organised Crime Branch said: “This seizure is another example of PSNI commitment to policing the threat posed by drugs in Northern Ireland. The PSNI remains committed to tackling the sale and supply of drugs in Northern Ireland and will continue to carry out intelligence led and proactive operations like this one.”

Detective Inspector Taylor continued: “Whilst I welcome the fact that these drugs have been taken off our streets, I continue to appeal to members of the public to come forward with any information about the supply or use of illegal drugs. Anyone with any information can call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
