Men due in court after altercation in Portstewart

Two males are to appear in court on Monday following an incident at the Promenade in Portstewart.

Just after 11.55pm on Monday, December 14, police were called to The Promenade area of Portstewart following the report of an altercation involving a number of young men.

One man, aged 30, was charged with disorderly behaviour, assault on police and resisting police.

He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday 11 January.

Another man, aged 21, was charged with disorderly behaviour and resisting police.

He is due to appear at Coleraine Magistrates Court on Monday 11 January.

A 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and disorderly behaviour.

He was later released on police bail pending further enquiries while two other men aged 29 and 28 were each given a Penalty Notice for Disorder (PND).
