Men invited for an MOT check-up

LOCAL men are being urged to shake off their shyness and take advantage of Action Cancer's Big Bus health check services.

Two of Ulster’s top radio presenters - Robin Elliott and Maurice Jay - are supporting the charity’s appeal for men in the Newtownabbey area to get a “Health MOT”.

Health MOTs are provided on Action Cancer’s state-of-the-art Big Bus mobile unit, which is sponsored by independent retail group SuperValu.

The MOT includes tests for blood pressure, lung capacity, cholesterol levels and skin damage caused by exposure to the sun. Men are also given dietary advice and information on exercise, quitting smoking, alcohol and how to make changes to their lifestyle that will reduce their risk of getting cancer.
