Mencap needs your views

Learning disability charity Mencap is asking people with a learning disability, their families and carers to share their views on what support they need to make decisions that affect their lives.

The meeting will be held at Portadown Town Hall on Thursday August 7, from 10:00am to 12:30pm and is part of Mencap’s consultation on the government’s draft Mental Capacity Bill.

Iain Foster, Mencap in Northern Ireland’s director said, “The new capacity legislation is a once in a generation opportunity to make a real difference as it has the potential to radically change how people with a learning disability are viewed, treated and listened to.
