Men's Shed exhibition a great success

An exhibition of local men's photographs recently took place at the Colin Allotments in Dunmurry.

The exhibition showcased photos taken by members of the Dunmurry based Colin Men’s Shed, a social group especially for men of any age.

Prior to the exhibition, Men’s Shed members took part in a 10 week photography course with renowned photographer, Carrie Davenport. The course was organised by Colin Neighbourhood Partnership (CNP) and funded by the Public Health Agency through the CLEAR Project.

The exhibition featured unique photographs of landscapes throughout Northern Ireland as well as local people and landmarks. Men’s Shed member and budding photographer, Mark Foster, enjoyed the course and photo exhibition.

“I have had a camera for many years but have never been able to utilise it to anywhere near its full potential,” explained Mark. “Carrie was a great tutor and encouraged us to change our perception of how a photograph should be taken and to push our creative boundaries. All the Men’s Shed members enjoyed taking photos in different locations and putting into practise what we learnt. I know all of us are really proud to have our photographs displayed in this exhibition.”
