Message in a bottle
THE public is starting to “get the message” that police will not tolerate drinking in the streets, according to official figures released this week.
Despite thousands of people attending events like the NW200 and Raft Race, police only made 118 separate seizures of alcohol from April 1 to July 3.
The seizures netted police some 392 items of alcohol which were confiscated by officers from people publicly celebrating events such as The Royal Wedding, Easter Weekend and The Party On The Beach.
