Michaella to appear before Peruvian court

Speaking to the press, Michaella’s solicitor Peter Madden said that she and fellow suspect Melissa Reid will be moved to a Peruvian court this morning (Wednesday).

Photographs of the two women, accused of smuggling £1.5 million worth of cocaine from Peru which show the pair apparently drinking on beach before they were arrested, have emerged.

The two women say they were ordered to take photos of themselves at tourist locations to make it look like they were simply friends travelling together.

“She was not and is not involved in the drugs trade. Michaella was not seen on video carrying drugs...She was not out shopping in Lima and spending a lot of money. That didn’t happen,” said Mr Madden.
