Michael's book explores magical Glens of Antrim

FAMOUS the world over, and now the Glens of Antrim are the subject of a new book by a former Ballygally resident.

Michael Sheane reveals that the area has always been close to his heart.

“I first came to live in Ballygally in June 1955, when it was still a very small settlement. But, as a teenager, my mother and father brought me on trips along the Coast Road and told me of the history of the Glens.

“The journey up the Glens is one of non-stop beauty,” Michael said, recalling camping trips in his younger days to the area’s scenic spots.

His book takes the reader on a fascinating trip through this unique landscape of fairy glens, wooded ravines, rushing torrents, waterfalls and ruined castles.

Including a number of photographs of the area, “The Glens of Antrim”, is the ideal companion for anyone who wants to know more about the area, its enchanting history and fascinating folklore.

The Glens of Antrim is published by Arthur Stockwell Ltd and costs 7.99 (paperback).
