Mid Ulster Charity Cheltenham bet - Friday’s choice

The Mid Ulster Mail and Tyrone Times sports department - Kevin Hughes and Seamus Donnelly - reveal their choices for the Cheltenham races throughout the week.

In conjunction with Hughes Bookmakers in Dungannon and Coalisland, the two sports gurus take on a £50 charity bet each day.

On Friday, the pair have gone for Many Clouds in the feature Gold Cup race at 3.20pm.

Many Clouds brings very solid form to the Gold Cup table this season having won on each of his three starts this season. The Oliver Sherwood trained runner has proven course form having won on the course in January and while others will be disappointed to see the rain coming, Many Cloud will relish the softer underfoot conditions. He’s improved with every start this season and a similar improvement should put him right in the Gold Cup picture at the end of the race.

Seamus and Kevin’s choice on Tuesday - The Druids Nephew at 8-1 - won the race, netting a cool £400 for charity.

And on Thursday, there was more joy with Call The Cops romping home first at 10-1.
