Mid Ulster drug seizures reflect ‘police commitment’

The PSNI’s area commander for F District, which includes both Cookstown and Dungannon, has given her thoughts on the extent of the area’s drugs problem.

Chief Inspector Jane Humphries told the TIMES: “These figures demonstrate our commitment to tackling the issue of drugs on our streets.

“We are determined to work with the communities of both Cookstown and Dungannon, and partner agencies to bring people before the courts.

“Drugs remain a problem throughout Northern Ireland, and despite drug related fatalities and repeated warnings regarding the dangers, there remain those that insist in taking illegal

drugs.

“Where there is a demand there will always be criminal elements from within the community who are willing to supply and with this in mind the PSNI continue to welcome all information in relation to drug dealing and other criminal activity.”
