Mid Ulster #election2015 - Molloy invokes 1916 in call to break link with Britain

“The only way to build independence and a real republic is to follow the ideals of the leaders of 1916 and the War of Independence, break the link and stop the cuts.”

“Westminster pays a Block Grant to the Assembly without genuinely taking into account the needs of the people in the North. At the present time, with more demands, more need the British government is cutting the budget and everyone suffers.”

“Breaking the link with Britain is still the only solution. Out of the Block Grant the British government takes back money for their army adventures around the world, for their Royal family, for Trident nuclear warheads and their war games. We don’t need these costs to our society. What we do need is that money to be spent on the people here for their benefit and their needs.”
“Sinn Féin is opposed to cuts in public services and opposed to Austerity. We are opposed to paying the Camerons and Milibands for their exploits around the world.”
“We want to build an All Ireland economy, with control over our own finances. The British government talks about the Block Grant, but never fully explains how much money goes out of the North and how much of that Block Grant is spent outside the North.”
“The message is clear, to break austerity it is time to break the link,” said Francie Molloy.
