On Sunday, March 29 teams of eight people from local businesses will pull an Allinghams Lorry cab over a measured piece of ground, (approx. 150 yards) at Kilcronagh Business Park and the fastest team wins a trophy.

They will be using a purpose built steel frame that is attached to the front of the lorry and each person pushes this to make the lorry move.

Emma McCann the Community fundraiser for Cancer Focus NI in Mid Ulster urged local people to come out and support the truck pull which starts at 2pm.

“All money that is raised goes to supply and fund cancer services in Mid Ulster, helping cancer patients and their families living in our area,” she said.

“One of the services we provide in the area is the Keeping Well Van, a mobile screening vehicle that goes to work places, sporting clubs, farmers markets etc to do free health checks.

“It will be there on the day so people can see where the funds will go to help.”

The teams taking part are Allinghams Transport; TES; CDE; Fit 2 Function and Crossfit Cookstown.
