Mid Ulster MLA welcomes funding boost for Rural Community Transport

Mid Ulster MLA Ian McCrea has welcomed the allocation of £800,000 to the Rural Community Transport Partnerships (RCTPs) to invest in more efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles and take full ownership of vehicles currently under lease agreement.

He said: “I welcome the allocation of £800,000 to the Rural Community Transport Partnerships which will go a long way in continuing this essential service that so many of our rural dwellers depend on.

“I was delighted to join DRD Minister, Michelle McIlveen whose department will deliver the service on the ground, while DARD have been the financing partner.

“Given the rural nature of the Mid Ulster constituency, this latest announcement will be widely welcomed and has been something I have lobbied for on many occasions.”
