Mid Ulster MLAs hail Andy Murray’s Wimbledon triumph

Mid Ulster MLAs Martin McGuinness and Ian McCrea have joined in the congratulations being offered to Wimbledon champion Andy Murray.

Andy Murray sparked huge celebrations across Britain after his straight sets win 6-4 7-5 6-4 over world number one Novak Djokovic.

Deputy First Minister Martin McGuinness was among the first to offer his congratulations via twitter.

“Congratulations Scotland’s #Andy Murray,Maith thu,” the MLA tweeted.

DUP MLA Ian McCrea soon followed on twitter: “Well done @andy_murray on becoming Wimbledon champion. The first British player to win it in 77 years.”
