Mid Ulster: We are in the middle of nowhere... and yet the centre of everywhere

Last week saw the celebration of National limerick day and after countless weeks of coming on here and sniping over elections and general discontent, I thought I would present my very own ditty about the Mid Ulster Mail, which has been publishing news for the last 125 years.

Maybe I have also been inspired by the impending opening of the new Seamus Centre in Bellaghy - you see - I do mention the good things that are happening.

We are in the middle of nowhere

And yet the centre of everywhere

For the folks in the big smoke

We are just culchies with yokes

But from the shores of the Lough

To the foot of the Sperrins

You will find the Mid Ulster Mail

And a community spirit that will always prevail.
