Middleton calls for Clipper return

He said: “The success of this years Clipper festival has been proven by the thousands of visitors and the millions of pounds brought into the economy over its duration.

“This years programme in Londonderry was spectacular and once again exceeded all expectations, cementing our place as the favourite destination for the clipper race crews.

“Given this success, I believe that it is appropriate that Londonderry participates in the upcoming Clipper race and becomes a host destination once again. I will work with MLA colleagues, council and the relevant stakeholders to ensure this is achieved.”
