The Stormont Health Committee member who attended the launch event in Lisneal said: “The launch of the ‘Lethal Highs - Lethal Lows’ DVD is another significant step towards highlighting the life threatening dangers associated with legal highs.”

Over 120 young people from Lisneal College, St Mary’s and St Cecilia’s college attended the event along with community representatives and PSNI.

Mr Middleton said, “The event heard a brave and courageous speech from Adele Wallace who lost her son in April 2015 through legal highs.

“I thank Adele for sharing her story and congratulate Alderman Graham Warke, the Cathedral Youth Club and all involved in putting the DVD together.

“I would encourage schools and youth groups to use this as a learning tool when educating young people and their families on this very serious issue. In our Westminster manifesto earlier this year the DUP called for legislation to tackle these substances and it is vital we do everything possible to educate young people of the dangers such legal highs pose.”
