Mina (100) and Bob (97) celebrate by the book with library staff

Banbridge Library recently hosted a birthday celebration for two of its popular customers - Mina Spratt, who reached 100 years of age in June, and Bob Anderson, who turned 97 on the day of the party.

The library staged an afternoon with the two avid readers to celebrate their special birthdays over books and cake.
Honoured to hold the celebration,  she said, a spokesperson added: Mina and Bob said that reading is very important to them and they both love books. They said the secret of their success was in keeping their minds active through reading and puzzles; Bob attends the weekly Board Games session in the library and Mina regularly watches Countdown.
