Minister congratulates All Ireland winners

The Minister took the opportunity to view a number of local projects.

Fr Rocks GFC was the first stop in town for Minister Ni Chulin and Francie Molloy as they congratulated the club on making history by being the first club to win the trophy twice.

Local club members were on hand to give the Minister an overview of the club history and some recent developments as well as future plans.

“The success of clubs such as Fr Rocks is a vital part of the community and the club here plays a strong role in the Cookstown area,” said the Minister.

The next stop was up to Holy Trinity College where the Minister took on the challenge of playing handball with some students.

The school Principal and staff updated the Minister on the proposed development of the school and the plans for a new build programme. The school has excelled over recent years in its sporting achievements as well as continuing to provide excellent academic results.

Finally Francie accompanied Minister Ni Chuilin to Mid Ulster Sports Arena where Cookstown council officers were keen to outline plans for the continued development of facilities at the grounds. Expansion plans for changing facilities are just part of the on-going improvement of the much in demand sports centre.
