Minister opens street furniture firm’s new premises

The business designs and sources bespoke street furniture products and recently invested almost £200,000 as part of plans to target sales opportunities in Great Britain, Europe and beyond.

Environmental Street Furniture, based at the Valley Business Centre, has benefited from Invest Northern Ireland’s assistance to recruit five new staff members; three were supported through the Jobs Fund.

Speaking during a visit to the company, Arlene Foster said: “Environmental Street Furniture is a recently established business with a clear commitment to achieve success in export markets.

“Invest Northern Ireland’s support with the recruitment of additional staff and the implementation of its marketing strategy will enable this company to strengthen its competitive position in its target markets. I am delighted to formally open Environmental Street Furniture’s offices and wish the company continued success with its future growth plans.”

The company has also received Invest NI support towards its marketing activities. Its products include bollards, seating, litter bins, cycle parking and bus shelters.

Alan Lowry, managing director of the Church Road business said: “The opening of our premises is a significant milestone for Environmental Street Furniture and the support we have received from Invest NI will be essential in helping us to grow our reputation among potential customers and secure export sales.

“Our marketing activities will initially be focused on opportunities in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland with a view to then targeting business in Scandinavia, USA, Middle East and Australia.”

Invest NI’s £87,000 support package for Environmental Street Furniture was part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
