Minute’s silence for traffic victim

A MINUTE’S silence was observed before the start of the Antrim hurling championship final at Casement Park on Saturday night in memory of a 24-year-old man with Dunloy connections who died in a car crash in the south of Ireland on Friday.

Fionan O’Kane died when the car he was travelling in was involved in a road traffic accident.

Mr. O’Kane lived at Kingscourt, Co. Cavan, and was highly respected. He was a relative of a former chairman of Dunloy GAC and his parents Tim and Patricia came from Kilrea and Portglenone respectively.

The funeral took place on Monday to St. Mary’s Church in Portglenone where funeral Mass was held. Interment followed in Aughanahoy cemetery.
