“I have asked police to step up patrols in this area, but I would remind parents that they have a responsibility to make sure they know where their children are, and what they are doing.

“The actions of those responsible could have serious repercussions, leading to a court appearance and a criminal record.”

A police spokesperson said: “Police are investigating several reports of damaged car wing mirrors in the Circular Road area of Coleraine.

“The damage is believed to have happened sometime during Friday night/early hours of Saturday.

“Anyone with information about those responsible is asked to contact police on the non-emergency number 101.”
