MLA condoles with Ismay family
DUP MLA Gary Middleton has expressed his sadness at the death of 52-year-old Adrian Ismay, the prison officer who died on Tuesday, March 15, a matter of days after being blown up by the IRA in East Belfast.
“I am deeply saddened to hear that the prison officer attacked by cowards in East Belfast has died. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones,” he said.
“I am disgusted that terrorists have taken the life of an innocent man who was making a positive contribution to our society; unlike those who planted the bomb,” he added.
