MLA Frew leaves borough council

DUP MLA Paul Frew has stepped down from Ballymena Borough Council.

He announced his departure from the local authority yesterday (Monday) afternoon stating that he now looks forward to working “alongside” Council in his role as a North Antrim Assemblyman.

Mr Frew, who has been a councillor since the 2005 Local Government elections when he topped the poll, said: “It has been an absolute pleasure to represent the people of the Braid over the last eight and a half years. I thank everyone for the tremendous support they have given me and the party over the years of service.

“That service will continue as I continue my role as MLA for North Antrim,” he said.
