MLA presented with his MBE

East Londonderry MLA George Robinson has described his trip to the Palace last week to collect his MBE as ‘one of the most memorable days’ of his life.

The hard working MLA who has been in politics for over 30 years, thanked his constituents for their continued support.

“To see Buckingham Palace is an honour, but to meet Prince William and receive my MBE was overwhelming. It has been a deeply humbling occasion, especially as the public put forward my nomination.

“The faith shown in me has only strengthened my desire to ensure I help as many people in East Londonderry and Limavady as possible.

“I want to thank the people who nominated me for this award, especially as I was only doing what I enjoying doing the most - and that’s helping others.”

The Limavady Branch of the DUP has congratulated Mr Robinson on his honour. “George has been an outstanding local representative for over 30 years and many people in Limavady and East Londonderry are very grateful for George’s assistance over those years.

“He is held in immense respect throughout the community, and we are all delighted that all the years of unselfish work by George have been recognised with his MBE.

“Despite this great honour George Robinson is still the same unassuming, hardworking and affable individual that he always has been.”
