Assemblyman Swann, who is also UUP Chief Whip, said the opening of the Stranocum surgery “is part of the Ulster Unionists’ outreach initiative.”

“This adds to the already established surgeries in Bushmills Community Centre, Balnamore Community Centre, Glebeside Community House and Ballymaconnelly Orange Hall, and appointments can be made for these surgeries by calling my office on 028 2565 9595, or they also operate on a drop-in basis,” he said.

“I have found that our surgeries are dealing with an increasing number of housing, health and welfare issues, and that is why I believe it is important to deliver this service.”

Councillor Joan Baird added: “I am looking forward to meeting the people of Stranocum and district at our new advice service in the village.

“My background is in housing, planning and education, and I hope that my expertise will be of service to the people in the area as we prepare for the advent of the new Causeway Coast and Glens Council.”
