MLA urges uptake of scheme to protect children from ‘sexting’

Not enough is being done to protect young people online, an East Antrim MLA has claimed.

Ulster Unionist Assembly member Roy Beggs has urged all teachers, parents and young people to check out the ‘Think U Know’ child sexting advice campaign, which has been recently launched.

Mr Beggs said the scheme was a welcome development.

He added: “With the recent tragedy of a young person being drawn in and then blackmailed by international criminals, this is an aspect of the internet we all should be aware of. “

Mr Beggs urged parents to look up the ‘Thin U Know” site. He said: “Information can be found at www.thinkuknow.co.uk and I would encourage everyone to visit the website.”
