“The centre in Bellaghy is a great addition to the wonderful legacy of Seamus Heaney as so much of his work is rooted around the Bellaghy area where he grew up.

“This will help boost tourism in the area as people come from around the world to learn more about Seamus Heaney and his poetry.

“I will also be writing to Enterprise Minister Jonathan Bell to ask what more his department can do to celebrate the legacy of Seamus Heaney and attract more tourists to the Bellaghy area.”
