MLAs visit ‘improved’ emergencyfacilities

East Antrim MLAs Sammy Wilson and Stewart Dickson joined a number of other political representatives at the opening of Antrim Area Hospital’s new A&E department.

The department opened at the end of June with both patients and staff benefitting from the improved facilities. The 2450m² space includes a reception with a dedicated waiting area for children; triage; examination rooms; majors (Adult & Paediatrics); minor injuries; ambulatory care; resuscitation beds; an X-ray suite; CT scanner and isolation facilities plus a full range of supporting accommodation.

Those requiring emergency treatment are reminded to attend the new emergency department. Patients should turn right upon entering the hospital site and the new department can be found on the left with car parking directly opposite.
