Moira group thank their local supporters

THE Moira Cancer Research Committee has thanked all those in the local community who have supported them.

Frank and Cynthia Gardiner and friends raised 1,200 with their annual clay pigeon shoot, which was held over the Christmas holidays.

The Committee would also like to acknowledge Moira Presbyterian Church for hosting its annual Cross Community Carol Service, which raised 666, and Lurgan Golf Club for hosting its annual quiz which raised 437.

The Moira Committee’s Big Brunch will be held this year on Friday, March 12, in St John’s Parish Centre and it is hoped the local community will be as supportive as they have been in previous years.

This year the Moira group will join with Lurgan Cancer Research Committee to have a great day in Lurgan Park on Saturday, May 22, with the “It’s a Knockout Challenge”.

Teams of 10 are promised a great day’s craic and at the same time raise funds for a very worthy cause. The event is expected to attract teams from a wide section of the community and will boost your company’s/group profile. Contact any member of the Moira or Lurgan Committee to find out more.

New members are always welcome to the group’s monthly meetings which are hosted by the Ivory Restaurant, Moira at 7 30pm on the first Tuesday of the month.
