Moira Guest House is a landmark business

WorldHost is a customer service training programme that was developed for the Northern Ireland market by NITB and the tourism and hospitality sector skills council People1st.

The programme offers delegates a comprehensive training toolkit that can be used across a wide variety of industries where the quality of front-line customer service is key to business success.

Alderman Allan Ewart, Chairman of the Council’s Economic Development Committee, visiting the premises to present Bill Trimble and Timothy McStay with their WorldHost plaque, said: “It is excellent news that this extensively restored and modernised guest house in the centre of historic Moira has attained the high standard of WorldHost.

“This is an official acknowledgement of a local business’s investment in ensuring all their guests have a great experience and receive the attention and service they deserve from the polite and courteous staff.

“I hope that being recognised as a WorldHost Business will attract new customers to this 10 en-suite room accommodation facility and that existing customers will return on a regular basis.

“The tourism industry is very important to Lisburn City Council and it is delighted to be able to publicly acknowledge the high achievements of tourist facilities.

Moira Guest House is prepared to go the extra mile and help its guests plan their visits in terms of airport collections, itinerary planning and a weekend adventure package. Dogs can also be catered for by special arrangement.

WorldHost has been successfully launched in the UK and was used to train 200,000 customer-facing staff at the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and other world-class events.
