Moira thanked for charity efforts
Cancer Research UK’s local committee has voiced its gratitude to the people of Moira, who have been extremely generous in supporting the charity’s fundraising efforts in the area.
The committee held a well-attended quiz in Pretty Mary’s in April, during which £1,000 was raised, and were presented with a cheque for £2,200 from Raymond Doone, after he ran the Belfast Marathon.
Moira Committee has been in existence for 31 years and its fundraising was recognised when Caitriona Hughes, Chairperson, and Netta Dillon, Vice Chairperson, were invited to a very prestigious Supporters’ Luncheon in London. The group of 20 volunteers had 550 years of fundraising between them, and had raised over £4.5m.
