Moira WI meet fire service

THE NI Fire and Rescue Service provided the entertainment at the March meeting of Moira WI.

One of the two speakers on hand was Aidan, who gave a brief history of the Fire Service and how it has changed, how it serves the community and tries to save lives in all sorts of tragic circumstances.

The second speaker was Pearl, from the Fire Service’s headquarters in Lisburn, who talked the group through a typical day taking calls from all over the Province. She also explained the technology used to get help to those in life-threatening situations.

A vote of thanks was given by Grace Wells. The competition for the Home Safety hint was won by Marlene McMillan while the birthday girl was Suzanne McConville.
