Alana McCormick, Cambrai Heights, Waringstown, was fined £150 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without due care and attention on February 2 this year. She was also given three penalty points.

Just after 4pm on the Belfast Road, Dollingstown, a car, with a child on board, was in a collision with another vehicle driven by the defendant. The injured party had been driving towards Lurgan when a car, going into Gilpin Park, went across her path. The defendant accepted some responsibility at the scene, saying she did not see the other car coming.

Her solicitor said she was very distressed by the whole incident, shaken up and concerned about the young passenger in the other vehicle.

He added that it was a momentary lapse and no serious injuries were caused.
