Moneymore flood prevention proposals welcomed

Mid Ulster SDLP Councillor Christine McFlynn has welcomed proposals toposition new drainage gullies along Conyngham Street Moneymore in response to the recent severe flooding in the village.Cllr McFlynn said, “Patsy McGlone MLA and I met recently with Roads Service representatives at the site of the recent flooding on Conyngham Street in Moneymore. “We discussed proposals to help prevent a recurrence of the problems experienced by local residents during the heavy rainfall.“As a result of that positive meeting Roads Service are proposing the positioning of new drainage gullies along Conyngham Street, with some close to the junction with Circular Road.“This proposal is very welcome and should help to reassure local residents that work will be undertaken to help prevent flooding at this site in future. “We will continue to liaise with Roads Service to ensure that these proposals are implemented as soon as possible.”
