The two turbines, which have been fully operation since mid-February, will significantly reduce the company’s dependence on conventional carbon emitting fuels, with any additional electricity generated entering the local grid system. By cutting energy costs, the company is helping to lower its operational expenditure to improve its competitiveness.

Extending congratulations to Ryan and Moorfields PS, Kathy Simpson, Personnel Manager at Michelin Ballymena said: “The wind turbines have been a welcome asset for us as they help us to overcome the challenge of increased energy costs, particularly as energy prices in Northern Ireland far surpass those in Europe. It’s been great to see the level of support from the community and they have really embraced our efforts to lower our environmental impact.”
