More MBEs in Craigavon

THE Craigavon woman who founded Angels of Hope was awarded an MBE for services to people with ovarian cancer and their families.

Maureen Clarke set up Angels of Hope after she lost her daughter Julie to ovarian cancer on the October 1, 2002 at the age of 27.

Also in receipt of an MBE was police officer Sam Cordner.

Mr Cordner is Chief Superintendent within the local E district and was given the award for services to policing and to the community in South Armagh.

Elsewhere, Vera Elizabeth Kelso, Lead Midwife with the Southern Health and Social Care Trust was honoured with an MBE for services to Nursing in Northern Ireland.
