More parking for Port

Coleraine Borough Council are ‘actively’ looking for a site which can be used for parking in Portrush.

Chief Executive, Roger Wilson told last week’s meeting that they are aware that there is a parking issue in the resort during busy times.

The issue of parking in the seaside town was raised by Portrush Independent councillor Christine Alexander.

She told the meeting that during busy times, drivers could do ‘three or four circuts of the town’ before finding a place to park.

DUP Alderman Maurice Bradley agreed that more parking was needed and welcomed the news that Council were seeking alternatives.

He added: “It is good news that people can’t get parked - it means that they are coming to the town.”
