Morgan’s House of Music exam results

DURING the examinations held by Trinity/Guildhall School of Music L.C.M ABRSM and Rockschool, the following students were successful in music exams and in practical music:

Pre-prep: Jessica Falib, Andrea Falib, Rebecca Semple, Sinead McGorry, Ava Tierney, Laura McGuckin, Katherine Doris, Grade One and Initial: John Semple, Thomas Doris (Initial), Neha Varghese (Initial), Danielle Booth, Lauren Miller, Sean McClean (Initial), Neha Varghese (Grade One), Thomas Doris (Grade One), Oisin Quinn, Dervla Quinn (Initial), Emily Devlin, Danielle Booth (Initial), Sarah Fulton (Initial), Una Campbell.

Grade Two: Sarah Semple, Anna McKee, Steven Quinn, Claire Moore; Grade Three: Steven Devlin, Aileen Kelly, Katherine McGreedy, Anna Marie McCune, Grade Four: Una Herron, Naomi Donaghy, Susan McKee; Grade Five (GSCE standard): Robyn Cooke, Zara Devlin, Eva Cassidy, John McKee; Grade Six (A Level and UCAS points): Kathryn Rainey, Oisin Devlin; Grade Seven (A Level and UCAS points): Jessica Donnelly; Grade Eight (final grade): Rebecca Stewart, Samuel Stewart.

Many of the students sat two, three or four exams and all the students gained excellent marks. The two youngest students were just five years old. Sarah Fulton and Dervla Quinn both passed initial singing with high marks.

Eight-year-old Danielle Booth from Coagh who has been taking lessons from beginner stage and to date has completed initial piano (82 per cent), Grade One singing (94 per cent), and Grade Two singing (87 per cent) in nine months.

Eleven-year-old Aileen Kelly has also been taking lessons from beginner and to date has gained two medals at the Ballymena Music Festival and sat her first ever exam starting straight into Grade Three singing, gaining a Merit in nine months.

Sisters Zara Devlin (15) and Emily (7) were also very successful in singing. Zara sat Grade Five, her first exam and gained a Distinction (94 per cent), equivalent to a GCSE. Emily sat Grade One singing, also gaining 94 per cent.

There was a 100 per cent pass rate and exams were taken in piano, guitar and singing at Cookstown, Ballymena, Dungannon, Antrim and Belfast.

There are still theory results pending and LCM ABRSM practicals which should be available by the end of July.
