“A number of proposals have recently been brought forward to the Environmental Services Committee following a meeting we requested with the Director, Heather Moore some months ago.

“The scheme agreed will see the area of dilapidated tactile paving resurfaced creating a more user friendly and aesthetically pleasing frontage.

“Over the years the matter of parking provision has been raised by customers and shop owners directly and through the local community groups and this solution, costing in the region of £24000, will create a new tarmac surface.

He added: “In addition the locating of a number of planters to the front will add some colour and pride to the area.

“At present an exact timescale for the work is not known however we will continue to lobby Council officers to have the work completed as early as possible before the end of March 2017.

“We would like to thank Lambeg and District Ratepayers especially Julie Turkington and Yvonne Craig for their continued lobbying to the Council.”
