Motorists to expect traffic disruption

Police are advising motorists of possible traffic disruption in Carrickfergus today.

The traffic advice has been issued ahead of the NIFL Premiership tie between Carrick and Cliftonville at 3pm today.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “With the anticipated crowds expected for the fixture, we are expecting some traffic disruption in and around the Taylors Avenue area. Police will be on the ground to assist, and we would ask you to follow any direction our officers give you. There will be cones on sections of Taylors Avenue and Prince William Way.

“Please leave ample time to reach the ground and find a parking space. Do not park in a coned area, your vehicle may be towed away if it obstructs other road users.”
