Moutray welcomes accolade as Craigavon placed in top 40

CRAIGAVON Area Hospital has been praised after being named among the top 40 hospitals in the a UK .

Upper Bann MLA Stephen Moutray praised the Southern Area Trust’s achievement. “I know that the chief executive Mairead McAlinden and her staff work tirelessly to provide a service that is of a high standard.

“I would commend the trust and all concerned in achieving this very well deserved recognition. We are indebted to the hard work of staff at all levels within our hospitals and I am personally very proud of Craigavon Area Hospital which is located within my own constituency.

“Although all hospitals face daily challenges I believe as a population we must be thankful for the level of service that is administered on a daily basis right across our country to us, our family and friends.”

Mrs McAlinden said, “We are continually looking for ways to improve and develop services to cope with increasing demand, all within the current financial constraints. But despite these challenges, our staff, as this award demonstrates, continue to provide excellent care for thousands of patients each year.

“Every member of staff working in our hospitals – from clinical, management and support services - has played an important role in achieving the award and every one should take pride in this honour.”
