The derelict site has long been a blight to the area with local politicians campaigning to have it properly secured.
DUP MP David Simpson and local Councillor Carla Lockhart have been working with the management company of the site to have it sealed off ‘once and for all’.

This comes following a ‘continuous lobby from residents who are tortured with anti-social behaviour’.

Speaking on the issue the DUP pair said: “This site has been the subject of anti-social behaviour for many years.

Residents are fed up with the way in which it lies open and people can freely enter it.

“As a result we have been working for many months with the relevant management company and have this week been given assurances that money has been sought from the bank to purchase extensive fencing and secure the site in a more robust way than previously.

“We are delighted with this outcome.”
