“The Good Morning Ballycastle project has become well known and well respected in the local area and beyond. It is a vital part of our community and very much depends on funding.”

Good Morning Ballycastle is a community project which offers “a friend on the phone”. It provides a much needed and much appreciated free telephone alert service for elderly and vulnerable people living in the Moyle and surrounding areas.

There has been no sustainable funding for this project since 2010, but fund raising activities, along with community contributions and other small grant applications have kept this project going.

The spokesperson added: “Presently we make on average about 1800 telephone calls being made each month to around 100 service users. These calls are made mainly by our valuable and dependable volunteers under the supervision of the project co-ordinator, Kate Elliott.”

If you or any one you know would like to benefit from this free service please contact Kate Elliott Project Co-ordinator, Good Morning Office, 60 Ann Street, Ballycastle BT54 6HL Tel No 02820768309.
